Golden Age Manor is proud to partner with Amery Hospital and Clinics to have a full time Nurse Practitioner on staff and at Golden Age Manor full time. This Nurse Practitioner oversees resident care along with the qualified Medical Director. Upon admission, the resident's health care continues under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner or the Physician of the resident's choice. The resident's personal physician will determine the plan of care, prescribe medications, treatments, diet, and identify areas of restorative care. In addition the personal physician will see the resident for the required visits and is available for consultation as necessary. In situations where a resident's physician is not available, their designated alternate physician will be utilized.
We have registered nurses in the facility 24/7. They do an excellent job of assessing residents' needs and individualizing care plans. The care plan team consists of a RN, Dietitian, Activity Director and Social Services Director. We involve the residents, their families, and guardians in the care planning process. If requested, we will also assist residents to prepare plans for emergency care and advanced directives. As a result, we consistently out-perform in preventing pressure sores, not using restraints, and the number of infections. Our certified nursing assistants are highly trained and very competent. They understand the medical conditions and cognitive impairments that residents have. Our nursing assistants work with the same residents on a consistent basis. They understand the residents needs and are able to respond quickly to resident calls, respect their privacy, and assist them in the most dignified manner.
Golden Age Manor contracts with Direct Source Therapy for our Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy needs. The therapy team specializes in treating residents recovering from recent hospitalization due to complex medical or surgical needs.

The Social Worker will assist with the admissions process to the facility. Assistance will also be provided for determining possible needs, resolving problems that may arise and help our residents adjust to the facility. Our Social Worker is an advocate for our residents.
Our Activity Department is directed by a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). The COTA designs our activity program to enrich the residents with activities that are of an interest to them as a group or as a individual. A variety of activities are planned to reflect cultural and religious interests of residents and to stimulate mental and physical enjoyment. Activities are offered every day, in the evenings, and on weekends.
Golden Age Manor has a full-time Registered Dietitian to over see our good and nutritious meals and snacks. The meals are customized to each resident's likes and dislikes. Nutritional assessments and ongoing nutritional care and counseling are done under the direction of our Registered Dietitian and the resident's attending physician. Therapeutic diets are ordered by the resident's attending Physician and are prepared in a tasteful manner. Our home cooked meals are well liked by our residents.
